Good NightOwl - Liars (2020)

Daniel Lewis Cupps is a guitarist and composer from Philadelphia, USA. Since 2011 he is recording albums under the name Good NightOwl. He mostly produces, sings and plays everything on the album by himself. This weekend I am spinning his brand new release 'Liars'. It contains sophisticated compositions with interesting hooks, layers of vocal harmonies and a smart use of instrumentation, both traditional and electronic.

This weekend I am streaming one of the milestones of progressive rock: The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway (1974) by Genesis. It is a piece somewhere between a suite and a rock opera, featuring the story of Rael. This double album is one of my favourite albums of all times.

On Easter it is a tradition to play "Jesus Christ Superstar" (1970), a rock opera written by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice. With Ian Gillan as Jesus and Murray Head as Judas.

Anubis - Homeless (2020)

Anubis is a neo-prog band formed in 2004 in Sydney, Australia. Over the years they have released six albums so far, all of which contain progressive melodious compositions with lush synths and guitars, and good singing by Robert James Moulding. This weekend I am spinning their brand new release 'Homeless' (2020).
