Galahad was formed in the UK in 1985 and started playing half covers from Genesis, Led Zeppelin and others. Since 1991 they have released 16 studio albums with own material. Pattern Seeking Animals (2023) CD2 + Quarterstorm

Last weekend I presented the brand new album of Pattern Seeking Animals, which is basically a spin-off of Spock's Beard. This weekend I am presenting CD2 of this album, which consists of a bonus track and three live recordings.

Also on the programme is a mini album by the band Quarterstorm (2004), an obscure band from the Czech Republic who only released this one mini album.

Seven Impale is a band from Norway, formed in 2010 in Bergen. The musicians have a background in jazz and classical music, which can be heard in their music. They have released three albums so far. The Flower Kings - Look At You Now (2023)

The Flower Kings is a progressive rock band founded in Uppsala, Sweden, in 1994, who have already released 14 albums so far. They are one of the important bands to be named in the context of the revival of Progressive Rock since the 90's. Their musical compositions are quite close to the role models of Genesis and Yes.

The featured album of this weekend is the brand new release of The Flower Kings: Look At You Now (2023). Also on this album the influence of the collaboration between guitarist Roine Stolt and Jon Anderson can be heard.

Unitopia - The Garden, part 1 (2008)

Unitopia was formed in Australia around 1996 by Mark Trueack (vocals) and Sean Timms (keyboard, guitar). They have released four albums until 2012. Then they split up to form and participate in other bands. Mark Trueack formed United Progressive Fraternity and collaborated with The Samurai of Prog. Sean Timms formed the band Southern Empire. Unitopia have recently reunited and released a fifth album, and are currently touring through Europe. On today's programme is their second album 'The Garden' which consists of two CDs. This weekend we are listening to CD1.

Unitopia - More Than A Dream (2005)

A dream came true - more than a dream! After a hiatus of nearly 10 years the Australian band Unitopia reformed again and is going on tour this year. Together with Chester Thompson (ex touring member of Genesis) on drums, and multi-instrumentalist Steve Unruh (The Samurai of Prog.)
On this occasion, I am playing the debut of Unitopia from 2005.
During their hiatus singer Mark Trueack was busy with said Samurai of Prog and United Progressive Fraternity. Meanwhile keyboardist  Sean Timms formed the band Southern Empire. Now the two are reunited, and here are their current tour dates:

Gentle Giant - Octopus (1972)

On today's programme is one of the progressive rock 'classics', which means one of the albums of the 70's you need to know if you are into progressive rock. It is a masterpiece by Gentle Giant: Octopus (1972). I am playing it in honor of Ray Shulman (8 December 1949 – 30 March 2023), who mostly played bass guitar and violin/viola, but also guitar, trumpet, recorder, keyboards, drums, percussion and vocals. Shulman and keyboardist-bandmate Kerry Minnear composed or co-wrote much of the music for Gentle Giant.

Like every year, the next two weeks will be a time chaos due to the fact that North America switches to 'Daylight Saving Time' two weeks earlier than Europe. During this time, events based on SLT, which equals PST, is for Europeans one hour earlier than usual.
On this occasion I am playing a theme: Time! Don't Be Late!

Comedy of Errors is a neo-prog band from Glasgow, Scotland, originally formed in 1984, then disbanded and reformed in 2011. Since then they have released 5 studio albums. This weekend I am streaming their second release Fanfare & Fantasy, which is one of my favourite albums of 2013.

Seven Reizh - L'Albatros (2018)

Seven Reizh is a duo founded in 1999 in Bretagne, France. On their albums they are accompanied by many guest musicians, giving the recordings an orchestral sound. This weekend I am presenting their latest and forth release 'L'Albatros'. They blend Celtic rock and Arabic sounds to melodious cinematic musical landscapes, featuring unusual instruments, such as bagpipes, duduk, harps and others. The female and male vocals sing in English, French and Breton. This album is in my personal top 10 of 2018!

Good NightOwl - Encounters (2022)

Good NightOwl is a project by Daniel Lewis Cupps, founded in Philadelphia, USA, in 2011. Cupps basically plays and sings everything. On his latest release 'Encounters' he has teamed up with drummer and composer Joshua Cook. The album contains 5 compositions, which consist of rather complex layers of music. The 5 tracks are on the album twice: with and without vocals. To hear the tracks without vocals after you have heard them with is amazingly a new listening experience.

Arena: The Theory of Molecular Inheritance (2022)

Arena is a neo-prog band from Surrey (UK), founded in 1995 by keyboardist Clive Nolan (Pendragon) and drummer Mick Pointer (Ex-Marillion). With 'The Theory of Molecular Inheritance' they have released their 10th studio album. The music sounds somewhat heavier than Pendragon and Marillion, and features a powerful performance of singer Damian Wilson.

Jonas Lindberg & The Other Side is a Swedish Progressive rock project founded in Stockholm 2012 by bass player, songwriter and producer Jonas Lindberg. Today I am presenting their latest release and second studio album. The music can be described as modern symphonic prog rock similar to maybe The Flower Kings or Spock's Beard, with a touch of Southern Rock.

Jean-Pierre Louveton (JPL) - Sapiens Chapitre 3/3: Actum (2022)

Jean-Pierre Louveton is the guitarist of the French prog rock band Nemo. Since 2002 he releases albums under the moniker JPL. His latest album is called 'Sapiens, Chapitre 3/3: Actum (2022). It is a continuation of the album Sapiens, Chaptre 2/3, which was released in 2020. The music has a dark atmospheric touch to it, which shows a certain continuity in many French prog rock artists ranging from Arachnoid, Pitch, Orion to Lazuli.
