UPF - Hope (2023) CD1

United Progressive Fraternity (UPF) started as a follow-up project after Australian band Unitopia split up in 2012. Meanwhile Unitopia has reformed and UPF became basically a project by Mark Trueack (Unitopia) and Steve Unruh (The Samurai of Prog). They have released three albums so far. The three albums are meant to be a Love/Loss/Hope trilogy, with topics centered around earth protection. This weekend we are listening to the latest and third album 'Hope', CD1 out of two. CD2 will follow another time. The music can be described as symphonic prog with lots of orchestral sounds and world music influences.

In concept very similar to The Samurai of Prog the core musicians are supported by a huge amount of guest musicians, among them Steve Hackett, Sean Timms, Ryo Okumoto, Jean Pierre Louveton, Rachel Flowers, Nick Magnus, Jerry Marotta, Elisa Montaldo, Jonas Reingold, Hasse Froberg, Lisa Wetton and many more.
