Echolyn - Time Silent Radio VII (2025)

Echolyn is a band based in eastern Pennsylvania. They are active sind 1989 and are one of the important bands of the 'third wave' of progressive rock since the 90's. They have released eleven studio albums so far. Album 10 and 11 are released on the same day in March 2025 with the titles Time Silent Radio VII and Time Silent Radio II. Time Silent Radio VII contains seven tracks, and Time Silent Radio II two tracks, hence the numbers! The songs were created between 2018 and 2024 and contain meditations on time and the currents of change inherent in it.

This weekend I am playing the album withthe  seven songs. The album with the two songs I am playing another time soon.

Abel Ganz - Shooting Albatross (2008)

Abel Ganz is a neo prog band from Scotland founded in 1980 during the first renaissances of prog, when bands like Marillion, IQ, Pendragon and Pallas revived the progressive rock sound of the 70s. The album 'Shooting Albatross' of 2008 is probably the album of Abel Ganz' discography that most recalls the prog sound of the 70s, garnished with folk and jazz elements.

There is a saying in German: "to shoot a bird", which you say about someone who performs a specific task better than anyone else. In this way you can say it about Abel Ganz for this release (even if it is an albatross!). It consists of four epics of pure excellence and beauty.

Renaissance - Live at Carnegie Hall (part 1)

This weekend I am playing one of my favourite live albums of all times: the live album by Renaissance from the year 1976. They play together with the New York Philharmonic Orchestra. Not only the song selection is very good, but also all the musicians shine here with their excellent performance.
