Agusa - Prima Materia (2023)

Agusa is a band formed in Malmö, Sweden, in 2013. They have released 6 studio albums so far. I heard of them for the first time at the Loreley Night of the Prog festival in 2023, where they made an amazing appearance. This weekend I am streaming their highly acclaimed release from the same year: Prima Materia. The music is mainly symphonic instrumental with some Canterbury and jazz rock influences. With their flute passages and the guitar/keyboard arrangements they slightly remind of Camel.

Seven Reizh - Le Barque Ailée et L'albatros... Quand S'envolent Les Mots...(2023)

Seven Reizh is a duo from the Bretagne, France, founded by Claude Mignon (Composer, guitar) and Gérard Le Dortz (Writer, vocals) in 1999. The duo is always accompanied by a huge amount of guest musicians, who play all kinds of modern and traditional instruments like saxophone, uilleann pipes, duduk etc. Since 2001 they have released 4 studio albums. Their latest is released in 2023, which is basically a wrap up of the two previous albums 'Le Barque Ailée' and 'L'Albatros'. The music is mostly instrumental with a few vocals sung in French or Breton language. This album also features Turkish and Vietnamese vocals. 

In case you were wondering about the album title, it means 'The Winged Boat and the Albatross... When Words Fly Away...'.

Anubis - The Unforgivable (2024)

Anubis was formed in 2004 in Sydney, Australia. They have released 7 albums so far. This weekend I am playing their 7th album and brand new release 'The Unforgivable'. They play melodious neo prog, with good vocals, excellent song compositions and with a few heavy edges. The new album is basically one single track split up into 10 parts.

Solstice - Light Up (2022)

Solstice was founded in Milton Keynes, UK in 1980, as a band project by guitarist Andy Glass. They have released 7 studio albums so far. The featured album of this weekend is their latest release 'Light Up' (2022). They play modern sounding melodic progressive rock with female vocals and an occasional violin, which gives the music a jazzy feel.

Sketchshow - Waves (2021)

Sketchshow is a band from Southampton, UK. They have released their first EP in 2018. In 2021 they have released a full album 'Waves', which I will stream in its entirety. They describe themselves as math rock fusion. In their music I also hear some influences from King Crimson, but it has a very own distinctive style. Decide for yourself how to categorize this!

Fuchs - Too Much too Many (2023)

Fuchs is a project by German composer and multi-instrumentalist Hans-Juergen Fuchs and his wife Ines Fuchs. I first heard of them in 2023 at the Loreley Night of the Prog, where they gave a fantastic concert. Today we are listening to their forth release 'Too Much Too Many' (2023). Their music can be described as symphonic prog, a bit in the style of 70's Genesis.
