Mammoth (USA)

Mammoth is a 3-piece-band from Los Angeles (git, b, dr). All members studied at the Musicians Institute in Hollywood, CA. Since 2012 they have released 4 EPs. I will play the last two EPs 'Polymorphism' (2014) and 'Innate' (2015). The music is mostly instrumental with unusual chord progressions and heavy guitar riffs. After that I will play more from Quarterstorm, Discipline, Genesis and Yes.

Thieves' Kitchen - The Clockwork Universe (2015)

Thieves' Kitchen is a trio from the UK with additional musicians of Anglagard and ex-Sanguine Hum. The result is a jazzy type of modern prog with venturous chord changes throughout, over which hovers a gentle female voice. They have released now their sixth album. After that I will play more from Opeth, Mammoth, Hradistan, Marillion, Genesis and Yes. Duration 90 min.

Comedy of Errors - Spirit (2015)

The Scottish band Comedy of Errors have now released their third album. After the highly acclaimed previous album 'Fanfare & Fantasy' can there still be an improvement? It seems to be possible! The current release is a concept album, which has a more classical and symphonic approach than their previous releases.
After the album I will play more from Marillion, Echolyn and Burnt Belief.

King Crimson - Live at the Orpheum 2014

Today I am presenting you a 45-minutes live recording of the current King Crimson incarnation. Because of the short duration it can only serve as a teaser, and I hope that they will soon release a full concert recording. I was at the show in Edinburgh and it was terrific, one of the best live experiences I had.
After that I will play more from Saga, Yes, Genesis, Guapo, Anekdoten, Anathema and Centric Jones.

Streaming again soon!

First my apologies for my long absence. After I returned from holidays in Scotland my laptop's harddrive broke down. Buying a replacement PC was not an option, because I am currently residing in Japan, where no one speaks English and everything is in Japanese only, including operating systems and keyboards. So after involving friends in Germany, who were sending me Software, friends in Japan, who helped me buying a new harddrive at the Japanese amazon, much struggling with Kaspersky's anti-virus program, which really has a 'country code' (which means you can only activate the program in the country where you bought it, unless you buy the country-code-free version on their website!), I could finally set up my laptop again, yay! It only needs a few more programs to install and some recovery of settings and then I will be streaming again. Check out for notices!

Supertramp special

Supertramp cancelled their tour due to illness of singer and songwriter Rick Davies. He has been diagnosed with multiple myeloma – a kind of bone marrow cancer. Today I am playing Supertramp tracks that are mostly sung and written by Davies, trying to send all the good vibes and wishes into his direction.

Silently falling down,
Bringing hope of future to the children.
Fills the air with a magic sound.
Giving light to sight that cannot see,
Hopefully

You will be missed. Rest in peace.

Sanguine Hum - Now We Have Light (2015)

Sanguine Hum is a neo-prog band from the UK, who has now released their third album. With their sophisticated compositions in a modern sound, their roots lie not so much in the classics of the 70's, more in Post Rock and Alternative Rock.

A great instrumental jazz/rock/fusion prog album from Germany.
