Terminal Degree - Breed (2017)

What happens, if you play a mix of progressive rock, jazz and metal, but instead of electrical guitars you use violins? The result would be probably something like Terminal Degree. Terminal Degree is a band formed in the US by drummer and composer Mike Barnett. On their latest release 'Breed' (2017) he is joined by the two classical violinists Stanley Chepaitis and Chas Wetherbee, with Nathan Santos on bass.

Pavlov's Dog - Prodigal Dreamer (2018)

Pavlov's Dog is band founded in St. Louis, Missouri, USA in 1973. They disbanded in 1977, but reformed in 1990. They are still active today. This weekend I am spinning their latest release from 2018: Prodigal Dreamer. The music and the use of violin has a certain resemblance to Kansas, while the vocals can be compared to that of Geddy Lee from Rush.

Pendragon - The Masquerade Overture (1996)

Pendragon is, after Marillion, and along with IQ and Pallas, one of the most important acts of the Eighties Progressive Rock rebirth. With their current release 'Love over Fear' they have proven that they are still alive and kicking today. This weekend I am spinning an older album from the year 1996: The Masquerade Overture, which is regarded as one of their best albums.
